This module introduces the fundamental principles of aquatic chemistry, focusing on the chemical composition and properties of natural waters and wastewater. It explores chemical reactions and equilibria in aqueous systems, including acid–base, dissolution–precipitation, oxidation–reduction, and complexation processes. Students will develop an understanding of the chemical mechanisms governing water quality and learn to apply these concepts to water treatment, pollution control, and environmental protection.
